What size dumpster do I need for roofing shingles?
There are 3 common sizes of dumpsters. 12 yrd, 20 yrd, and 30 yard. A 12yrd dumpster will hold approximately 28 roofing square of asphalt shingles. A 20 yrd will hold aprox 50 Sq. What size dumpster do I need for a bathroom or kitchen remodel?
Order the small 8, 10 or 12 yard dumpster if you are remodeling a bathroom. All the materials can fit into the 8 yard if you break it down into the smallest pieces and load flat, but you can use the extra space for those trash items that can clutter your life. Keep in mind that a 12yard roll off container can fit a mound of trash the size of a mid sized car. If you rent the 12 yard dumpster you may have room for that old mattress and old ugly recliner sofa.

How does pricing work?
It is basically a flat rate up to a certain tonnage. All taxes, service, fuel and administration fees are included in the listed price. How do I know if my dumpster will go over weight?
1 ton = 2000 lbs. Rain and snow seldom have a significant effect on tonnage. Rain will drain from the back of a roll off when loaded onto a truck. Items that typically cause a dumpster to go over the ton cap are plaster, concrete, trees, brick, dirt, asphalt, stumps and roofing material. Do I need to be present during the delivery or removal, and what should I do to prepare for the container?
It’s up to you if you wish to be present during the delivery or removal. If you do not want to be there, here are a few helpful tips to remember:
1. Make sure all vehicles and any other objects are out of the way of the delivery or removal area.
2. Make sure all wires and overhead obstructions have been cleared from the delivery area.
3. Make sure the area for the delivery has been marked for the driver, and any plywood is placed on the driveway for the container to be set down on.
Do I need a roll off or a lugger? What's the difference?
It depends on the question what size dumpster do I need? Roll Off Dumpsters have small wheels on the back (bottom) and are tipped off the back of a truck and rolled onto your drive. Roll Offs have back swing gates and they generally have lower sides. Luggers are delivered on smaller trucks are boomed off the back of a truck and lowered onto your driveway. Luggers have flat bottoms, smaller bases, and higher sides with one low side to the back for loading. Luggers are great for tight driveways and alleyways. How much room is needed for delivery?

What are the delivery, pick up, rental periods?
Allow 24 hrs for deliveries and pick ups. Call for Saturday deliveries. Rental period is for 0-15 days. You may call dumpsters in for pick up at any time before 15 days. Dumpsters will automatically be removed after 15 days. If you are finished with your dumpster before the 15 day period please contact us for removal. $12 per day over 15 day period. How do I handle dumpsters on streets?
We provide street permits for only the city of Milwaukee. 7 day street permits typically run $145 for 1 week. A permit for an extra 3 weeks (totaling 15 days) is an additional $45. These permit fees can vary depending on how busy the street is. Two Barricades are required for dumpsters placed on the street. $55 per pair. Please contact your city hall for requirements outside of Milwaukee. Street permits can add an additional cost to your remodeling construction project. Will it damage my driveway?
Protect your drive by placing three 8' 2x6's boards in the area to be delivered. Placing dumpsters on your grass can cause damage especially when the ground is wet. Asphalt surfaces are softer in warm weather. Hauler, contractor or sales agent shall not be responsible for damage to any private pavement or accompanying subsurface to lawn, concrete, asphalt or any route reasonably necessary to perform the services herein contracted.
Can I put a dumpster on an incline?
The answer is yes, for the most part. Every site is looked at on a case-by-case basis. There are situations where snow and ice may create a risky situation. Roll off dumpsters have small rollers in the back only to assist in the pick up and delivery of the container. How do I know what size dumpster to get?
If you are cleaning out a house and have furniture items, you may want to go with a 20yd or 30yd dumpster as the furniture will take up room in the container. Always remember going to the next size container is never a bad thing as you want all the room you can get rather than coming up with no room at all and you still have items to put in the container. Example = a 12yd roll off can hold the equivalent to the size of a mid-size car.
Can I have the roll off dumpster placed in an alley?
No, but there may be exceptions. Most alleys are not wide enough for trucks loading and unloading dumpsters to back into them, and with low hanging wires they would not be able to deliver the container in a safe manner. The exception is if you are on a corner lot and the alley is wide enough for the truck and container to back into. You may still have to get a permit just in case to place it in the street. Can I place the roll off on my lawn?
No, but there may be exceptions. The weight of the truck would leave ruts in the yard, causing it to sink into the lawn and damaging the grass. Can I place the dumpster on the street?
Yes, in most cases. For many renovation and construction projects, the driveway is usually not an option. By obtaining a street permit from your municipality, you can then place the container in the street. Some municipalities will only give street permits for a certain amount of days and they do charge to issue the permit as well, and they may require barricades. In some areas, it is the responsibility of the hauler to get the permit and the barricades.
Do dumpsters have backdoors?
Roll off containers have a swing door on the end which can be opened to walk items into the container. The roll off door needs a 9-foot area to swing open.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
This usually depends on the dumpster company. Some companies will rent them out for 5 to 7 days, and others may rent them for a longer period of time. We rent for up to 15 days.
